About me
My own mental health struggles have led me to dedicate myself to researching and training in a wealth of techniques that can help free us from our unhelpful, habitual thoughts and behaviours and open us up to a life full of promise.
For the last 20 years I have studied mindfulness, meditation and Buddhism; engaged with 12 step programmes, and trained in nature-based approaches to wellbeing. In 2019 I trained with Breathing Space in Schools as a mindfulness teacher and am now on their teaching team. In 2022, I trained with Chris Johnstone and became a Resilience Practitioner.
All of this learning has led me to be able to offer young people the kind of courses I so sorely needed when I was young. And adults, the courses I still need to maintain my hard-won mental well-being.
My approach
At the heart of what I offer is the practice of mindfulness - which means being aware in the present moment, intentionally and without judgement.
Even in short bursts, learning to be mindful can bring space, relief and greater self-awareness and compassion. In this state of mind, we are freer than we have ever been - free to choose how to respond to whatever life throws at us.

Pedagogy
We aim to create an explorative and learner-centred space where participants feel safe yet stimulated.
Rather than choosing between right or wrong, we encourage curiosity, enquiry and reflection.

All courses incorporate the 5 Steps to Mental Wellbeing framework adopted by the NHS:

1.Connecting with others
2. Being physically active
3. Learning new skills
4. Giving to others
5. Being in the present moment
And workshops include a variety of teaching methods to appeal to all learning styles, such as presentations, meditations, games, discussions and movement.

Applied Mindfulness
What is our relationship with our screens? How do we communicate with our friends and loved ones? What do we do when life gets hard?

Applied mindfulness is about shining a spotlight on our habits, behaviours and feelings so we start to see what actually is working for us in our lives and what holds us back.

When we bring mindful curiosity and kind attention to ourselves in this way, we are more open to the wealth of tools and strategies that might improve our quality of life.
